Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to your use of the Clean Credit Life website and client portal, and to our services. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy. By using our website, submitting an enquiry or engaging us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in them limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (NCA), POPIA or any other law that cannot be limited by agreement. In plain language, where these terms and the law differ in your favour, the law applies.

2. Our services
The services we provide to you are those described in your quotation, invoice or written service agreement with us. The general descriptions on this website are for information only and are not an offer that you can accept without our confirmation. We are not a credit bureau, a credit provider or a court, and we cannot change a bureau record or a court order ourselves. We act on your instructions and, where needed, lodge applications, disputes and correspondence with bureaus, credit providers, courts and other parties. Some steps, such as applications to a court, may need to be done by an attorney, and we will tell you when that is so. Debt review (debt counselling) can only be done by a debt counsellor registered with the National Credit Regulator.
Information on this website is general, is not legal, financial or credit advice, and does not replace advice about your own circumstances.
3. No guarantee of outcome
We work diligently and honestly, but the outcome depends on your circumstances and on decisions made by third parties such as courts, credit bureaus, credit providers and creditors. We cannot lawfully remove accurate information that a bureau is entitled to hold, and we do not offer to. We therefore cannot guarantee a particular result, credit score, or timeframe, and any estimate we give is only an estimate. Past results, figures and client stories do not predict your result.
4. What we need from you
- Give us complete, accurate and current information and documents, and tell us promptly if anything changes.
- Do not ask us to do anything dishonest, and do not give us documents or information that are false or belong to someone else. We will decline and may end our work if this happens.
- Respond to our requests within a reasonable time. Delays on your side can delay your matter.
- Keep paying your accounts and instalments as agreed with your credit providers while we work, unless a lawful arrangement says otherwise.
- Keep your portal login and one-time codes private, and tell us immediately if you think someone else has used them.
5. Fees and payment
Our fees are those in your quotation, invoice or service agreement, in South African rand, and include VAT where we are VAT-registered and the amount says so. Prices shown on the website, including “from” prices, are a guide; the amount you pay is the amount we confirm to you in writing before you pay. Third-party costs, for example credit report fees, court fees or attorney fees, are for your account only if we told you about them beforehand. We accept payment by the methods stated on your invoice, including card payments processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details. We will not start chargeable work before you have agreed to the fee in writing, which may include email or the portal.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time by telling us in writing. Where the CPA or ECTA gives you a right to cancel, for example a cooling-off period for agreements concluded as a result of direct marketing, we will respect it, and we will refund what you are entitled to refund within the time the law provides. Where you cancel after work has started, we may charge a reasonable amount for work already done and costs already incurred, which we will itemise, and we will refund the balance of any prepayment. If we cannot start or complete a service for reasons within our control, we will refund the fee for the part not delivered. This section does not limit any refund that the law entitles you to.
7. Confidentiality and your information
We keep your matter and your personal information confidential and use it only as described in our Privacy Policy. By engaging us you authorise us to obtain and share the information that is needed to carry out your instructions with bureaus, credit providers, creditors, courts and attorneys. For some steps we will ask you to sign a specific consent or power of attorney, and we will explain what it covers. You may withdraw an authority in writing at any time, subject to steps already taken.
8. Communication
We communicate with you by phone, WhatsApp, email and the client portal, using the contact details you give us. Please keep them up to date. For your safety, we will not ask you to send identity documents, bank statements or passwords by email or WhatsApp: upload documents through the secure portal. Be careful of messages that claim to be from us but ask for payment to a different account, and phone us on 060 017 1565 to confirm before you pay. Electronic communications from us are treated as written communications to the extent the ECTA allows.
9. Portal and website use
You may use our website and portal only for lawful purposes. You must not try to access areas or other clients’ information you are not authorised to see, interfere with the security or operation of our systems, use automated tools to collect data or submit forms, or upload malicious files. We may suspend access to protect our systems or clients, or if these terms are broken. We work to keep the website and portal available, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Our content
The Clean Credit Life name, logo, website design, text and materials belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may view and print them for your own personal use, but you may not copy, modify or reuse them for another purpose without our written permission. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content.
11. Our responsibility
We will perform our services with reasonable skill and care, as the CPA requires. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for results that depend on decisions made by third parties, or for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under South African law.
12. Complaints and disputes
If you are unhappy, please tell us first at info@cleancreditlife.co.za or on 060 017 1565. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 15 business days. If we do not resolve it, you may approach the National Consumer Commission, the Information Regulator for privacy matters, an alternative dispute resolution agent, an ombud with jurisdiction, or the courts. Nothing in these terms stops you from going to a consumer court or tribunal.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Where you are a consumer, you may bring a dispute in any court that has jurisdiction under South African law, including a magistrate’s court.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version number and effective date at the top show the latest version. A change does not affect services already agreed and paid for under an earlier version unless the law requires it or you agree. Please read them from time to time.
